I, Guru, am writing this letter to my fans, friends and loved ones around the world. I have had a long battle with cancer and have succumbed to the disease. I have suffered with this illness for over a year. I have exhausted all medical options.

And nobody knows where we are
And I can stay here for days
being alone with you in the back of my head

Headlights

Headlights Another great band I have to say. Found this one through Last.fm again. And I actually listened through all their albums on Spotify today. 3 Albums and an EP is not too much.

The have a nice sound to it. Easy listening for a day at work or lounging outside in the sun. And I could easily do more of that …

PS: when I compared the “similar artists” from Spotify to those of Last.fm (first 10), only 1 of them is matching ….. Why ?????

A Take Away Show

Behold……. In my search for more interesting music to fill my head with, I stumbled along a wonderful site. There they have a special section….. They call it “A Take Away Show”.

When I had a look at the list of bands there, I noticed a few of my favorites. So I knew it would be something good. Then you click on the bandname, and start watching some of the videos they uploaded. Well the result is…… mindblowing stunning !!!! I mean, the way they got these bands play: in the back of an open truck driving around, at the dark end of a street, in a cozy room with no public, …. It makes you appreciate the music even more. And you realize that those songs are actually really good.

Here are some of my favorites:

Together with the little stories they write with it…. a goldmine !!!!

Efterklang

EfterklangI am trying to expand my musical horizon a bit these days. Cause I think I need some new sounds in my headphones. I had friends living here in town who had music (finding new sounds) as their biggest hobby. So that was easy then, just hanging around with them.
But they moved back home to England a couple of years ago and the only thing I actually have been doing is listening to my old stuff (all the way back to the 80’s) and they stuff they introduced me to. Wel…. now I came to an end. Kind of….. There is only that much I can listen to before I get bored of the sound. And here I am …. stuck…..

But thank god that somebody invented last.fm !!!! I have been using it sooo much lately that it saves the day I would say. And my latest finding is: Efterklang. I am only halfway through their album “Parades”, but it is totally worth it. Go and check it out.

Here is the Spotify link.
